Information on Council Services affected during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic:

Schools

Following today's announcement by the Welsh Government, all schools in Rhondda Cynon Taf and across Wales will be closed for statutory education by Friday, 20th March as the response to the coronavirus outbreak continues. The Council will communicate further developments and information shortly.

Theatres

ALL RCT Theatres are now CLOSED to the public, to allow the Council to redeploy staff to priority services and also in line with the UK and Welsh Government guidance to limit unnecessary social contact.

Events

ALL Events across the County Borough are now CANCELLED to allow the Council to redeploy staff to priority services and also in line with the UK and Welsh Government guidance to limit unnecessary social contact.

Welsh Mining Experience at Rhondda Heritage Park

The Welsh Mining Experience at Rhondda Heritage Park will CLOSE to the public at 6pm today (Wednesday 18th March 2020) to allow the Council to redeploy staff to priority services and also in line with the UK and Welsh Government guidance to limit unnecessary social contact.

Libraries

A number of libraries will CLOSE to the public at 6pm today (Wednesday 18th March 2020) for the foreseeable future as we prepare to redeploy staff and respond to business continuity.

The following libraries remain open:

Gartholwg (Church Village)
Ferndale
Porth
Llantrisant
Pontypridd - Please note Pontypridd Library (Llys Cadwyn) will open once the move to the new facility has completed after 30th March.

Parks and Open Spaces

Dare Valley Country Park will CLOSE to the public at 6pm today (Wednesday 18th March 2020) to allow the Council to redeploy staff to priority services and also in line with the UK and Welsh Government guidance to limit unnecessary social contact (this only applies to the Visitor Centre and Ranger Service and is not presently extended to the café and toilets, however the wider Park areas will not be staffed by the Council).

Day Centres

Gilfach Goch Day Centre will CLOSE to the public at 6pm today (Wednesday 18th March 2020) to allow the Council to redeploy staff to priority services and also in line with the UK and Welsh Government guidance to limit unnecessary social contact.
